More about the print:
The print is a direct, high-resolution giclée reproduction of my painting Neon Graffiti (for Guy Debord and The Situationist International). The text is based on a slogan painted by Guy Debord across a wall on the Rue De Seine, Paris (circa 1953). It translates literally as Never Work and was apparently still legible in ’68 when it was co-opted (along with other ideas of the Situationists) and became one of many slogans mass-printed and distributed on posters, leaflets and placards in the student revolt.

DOMINIC BRADNUM will be showcasing a selection of new original neon paintings, alongside framed print editions at GREEN ROOMS in London’s Wood Green. Repurposed as a Berlin-style arts hotel, throughout April 2018 this former 1920s electrics showroom will buzz with Dominic’s neon emblazoned canvases and giclée prints.

Dominic’s latest works are themed around “urban romanticism”. Drawing upon the brutalist architecture and municipal functionality of multi-storey carparks, incandescent messages of romance, obsession and escapism are set among these monumental structures as vivid neon poetry.

WAC-RewindI’m excited to be showing some new work at WAC Rewind which opens in Wells, Somerset this weekend.

Back in 2013 I won First Prize at the Wells Art Contemporary – this was a significant development in my creative practice – at a time when I had no studio space, hadn’t painted for 9 months, and was considering giving up painting altogether – which led to me taking on a full-time studio space  and a subsequent sell-out debut solo show in London.

So it’s a pleasure to be invited back to take part in what they have billed as a “Greatest Hits” show alongside other prize-winners from the past 5 years.
